I meet my husband, Jad, playing in the Jazz band at Wartburg College in Iowa. We played next to each other for a few years and only spoke during rehearsals. It wasn’t until we were in a class together that we really connected. Jad’s family was living in Minnesota at the time, but getting ready to move to Texas. If you know me, I love baseball, and my team, the Minnesota Twins. I used this as an accuse to visit Jad in Minnesota. After going to a game and staying with his family, I knew it was going to be a good relationship.

Him moving to Texas was hard. I did get to visit him in Texas, and he came back to Iowa for a semester of collage, but after that semester, it was clear that he would not be coming back. Since I had graduated college and still looking for a job, I decided to move to Texas. We lived in Texas for 3 years before moving to Wisconsin.

While in Wisconsin, we started a photography business, got engaged, got married, bought our first home and got a puppy. We lived there for 5 years before realizing that we were still too young to be living in one area. We both loved the idea of living in the mountains….so we moved to Washington. We have been in Washington since 2020. Yes, we sold our house and moved across the country in the middle of a pandemic.

3 months after moving to Washington, we became pregnant with our first child. Unlike the normal these days, we wanted to wait to find out the sex until birth. Our little blessing, Aurora Mae, was born on June 21st.

The first 3 months of life with her have been amazing. It is hard bringing a child into the world. Everyone has opinions on what is right or wrong when it comes to raising her. My husband and I are doing the best we can and the way we feel is right.

I am exited to share with you all the adventures my family encounters and share some of the things we learn along the way.
