Exercise more, eat healthier, save money, learn a new skill, spend more time with friends and family - With a New Year, comes New Years resolutions.

Setting New Years resolutions gives you the opportunity to be honest with yourself about your current condition and evaluate where you would like to be. When you’re moving forward, you make a positive contribution to your emotional and mental health.

New Years Resolutions are a great way to focus on yourself, but also consider your border responsibility and to expand and multiple your positive effects on others. When you seek to be better, do better, or contribute more fully, you tend to inspire others. People pick up on choices and cues from others. When you focus on the future and focus on improvement, you can inspire those around you.

The song ‘Nobody’s Right’ by Anthem Lights is a good example of where we could all start.

Everybody's got opinions

How they think that things should be

Read this, watch that, click here

And think like me

Got some friends seeing red

And some others feeling blue

Everybody sounds so certain

But I don't know what to do

It seems that these days everyone is trying to tell you how to think. If we don’t think the same, then we are wrong. My question is ‘Why do we have to choose a side?” Why do we have to have all the answers? Maybe we need to all just stop trying to change others minds, and listen to others opinions.

Do we have to choose a side?

Aren't we all tryna do the same thing?

Is it really worth the fight?

What would happen if we start listening?

Is it always black and white?

Sometimes it's just more complicated

If we all think everybody else is wrong

Nobody's right

I'm not saying it don't matter

Think we all should be informed

I'm just saying leave some space

Cause we've all been wrong before

And no, we don't have all the answers

But I hope that we're not afraid to ask

This year I ask that you be informed, but leave some space to learn. Just because you feel like to know it all does not mean you do. The world is changing, we all know that. Be open to learn about others differences, likes, opinions, and backgrounds. Everyone has something they are hiding or fighting, be open to learn and not judge.

Talk less, love more, seek truth

Be the change that you wanna see
